Hello,
This recipe looks wonderful. However, I am allergic to something in cool whip style toppings. Would whipped cream be to rich?
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Definitely worth trying
How many servings does this make? I need enough for a 9 x 13 pan. Thanks
Hi Debra, thank you so much for "finding" my Mom's mandarin orange salad recipe!!! My daughter asked me to make it for thanksgiving and I was getting worried I wouldn't be able to make it since I have misplaced my copy....and my Mom is no longer with us.... Bless you!
Could I make this with strawberry Jello. Daughter doesn't like the orange flavor. Thanks
Love to mix the oranges and pineapple....also, I hate jello...but I can actually eat this!!!!! Going to be a cool fruity salad on my Thanksgiving table this year......Thank you for posting!
I see no reason this could not be made with strawberry jello and strawberries substituted for the mandarin oranges.
There would be enough in this recipe for a 9 x 13 pan.
This recipe can easily be doubled for larger pans or bowls. I double it all the time with no problems.
This is one of those things that was served all the time by my favorite grandma. It brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.
Will it work with sugar free jello?
I have never made it with sugar free jello but is worth a try
Can you make this the day before? Or will it get soggy?
