Have you ever heard the expression "Simple Country Wisdom?"  It is one of those statements that country folk use sometimes to state a reason why something works or doesn't work usually because of an experience that happened as a result of the lack of wisdom.  It also has a deeper life lesson to it than the simple truth seen at first. I began thinking about some of the "Simple Country Wisdom that I have learned and decided I would share some of  those hard won lessons with you...maybe you can avoid the experience part. LOL.

Simple Country Wisdom Says:

  • Never be the last in a line holding hands when the first in line grabs an electric fence.
  • Never approach a bull from the front or a horse from the rear and never turn your back on either.
  • Never judge a person by their relatives, we all have nuts on our trees.
  • Good judgement comes from a lot of experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgement.
  • Never Spit into the wind.
  • Don't Get the cart before your horse.
  • Don't count your eggs before they hatch or before you crack them open.
  • There are no poopless cows (or any other critter either)
  • The water tastes better when you are upstream from the herd.
  • A bumblebee is faster than a John Deere Tractor.
  • If you're riding ahead of the herd, look back every now and then to make sure it's still with you.
  • You can't reach for anything new if your hand is still full of yesterday's junk.
  • Never mess with a hornet's nest unless you are ready to run.
  • When in doubt, follow a dirt road it always goes somewhere.
  • When you lay down with dogs don't be surprised if you get up with fleas.
  • Show me your friends and you show me yourself.
  • Never advertise what you aren't willing to sell.
  • The best sermons are lived rather than preached
  • There is no such thing as Daddy's money because he taught you how to take care of yourself.
  • Never eat a meal in a dark place, it might be hiding something.
  • Never name an animal you plan to eat.
  • Never spend what you haven't made.
  • If you think you are a person of influence then try ordering someone else's dog around.
  • The bigger man will walk away from the fight.
  • Give your worries to God cause he is going to be up all night anyway.
