Why Google+ is A+

I know you are probably wondering why in the world you should jump onto the Google+ bandwagon especially when there are already so many great social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and many more.  I know that adding one more thing to do on the internet is not what most of you want or feel like you need.  I also know that it is difficult and frustrating to learn a new way to do the social network thing.  I just ask that you hear me out on this for just a bit before you make your decision.

I felt the same way about all of the above but despite all of that, I feel that Google+ is an excellent place to broaden your reach as a business, blog, or whatever reason you want to increase your contacts.  Google+ now has about 400 million users, 100 million of whom are active (Source: BGR.com  Dan Graziano).  I don't know about you but that sounds like a lot of new prospective contacts.

I would also like to point out the integration with all of Google's services.  If you are already using some of Google's services then they will be added together seamlessly with Google+.  Every time I post a new blogger post then I have the option of posting it to my Google+ contacts.  My Picasa account has been blended as well as my Gmail and the new Google Drive along with  their other services.

I love the way they designed Google+.  Circles are great.  Google+ has made keeping up with your contacts and deciding what to share with them and what not to share a cinch.  It is so much easier to be able to add contacts to a circle (category) with Google+.  I can just drag and drop the contacts to whatever circle I desire or I can add them with a check mark by the circles I want to include them in.  If I want to keep a post private to only a few people then I have complete control over that.  The privacy settings are easy to use and more apparent.

Google+ has the hangout feature where  people can have real time video chat rooms.  Think about this.  That means businesses can have meetings, families can visit each other, clubs can meet together, classes, the possibilities are endless.

Google+ has also added communities recently.  This is where people who are like minded in a particular area can share their ideas, tips, and information.  You can join communities that appeal to you and/or you can create one of your own if you like.  What a great way to find new contacts who are interested in the same things you are.

I have found that gaining followers on Google+ has been faster and easier.  I have found followers and people to follow who I may never have found had it not been for Google+.  Google keeps me updated in my Google toolbar anytime there is activity for me and they have made it easy for me to open just a drop down window to respond. (cool!).

There are many many other reasons that I feel Google+ deserves an A+ but I don't want to pound you too hard on it because I am hoping you will go on over and check it out for yourself.  I have been very impressed so far and with each new feature that Google+ rolls out I am sure I will be even more impressed.  I haven't shared nearly all the cool features they have because there are so very many but I give them all an A+ in cool factor as well as ease of use.

Go on try it...you might like it...Don't knock it till you try it...I promise it won't hurt and I think you might just be very glad you tried it.  I know that I am DELIGHTED with it.

Until Next Time

I guess anything new is a bit daunting Debra but everything is changing and I feel if I don't make an attempt at keeping up , then I am missing out.
It's been interesting reading your enthusiasm for this relatively new form of social media ... and I wonder if I'm not already a member because I often see the Google + sign on my pages??
