Party Time Again

It is party time here at the Howard house again and it was so fun!  We had a house full of people from the Hospital and a few of our friends too.

The food turned out fantastic as usual thanks to my dear friend Jo from Blessings Tea Room and Sandwich Shop.

She used my things and decorated the main table.  Didn't it turn out gorgeous?

This is Hayley, one of her helpers and she is my pastor's wife.  She is such a dear! I surprised her as she was working by taking her picture.

We didn't have very long before everything was ready and the first guests began to arrive.

Doesn't the food look yummy!  I can assure you that it was!  Most everyone went back for 2nd's and even 3rd's.

That is Rita hiding behind the Christmas decorations.  She is another dear person to me.  She worked so very hard helping Jo cook the food.

Here is the rest of our crew...Sunny and Jo is hiding behind her.  They were busy warming food and filling dishes.

I couldn't do this party so very well if it weren't for Jo and all her helpers.  They have truly been a blessing to me, just like the name of her business...Blessings.

It won't be long now before the dishes are completely full of wonderful food.  Oh how pleased the guests would be when they tasted it.

We added more desserts this year to our menu and they were such a hit that I didn't even get a chance to taste them!  I don't mind though.

Jo also added some new main course items and appetizers to our menu.  They were all a hit with the guests.

What do you think?  Would you enjoy a party table like this one?  I know that I certainly did.

There were so many items that Jo was constantly adding new items to the table.  It becomes very fun for our guests to try to keep up with all the new things coming out.  Jo says it keeps the table interesting and she is right about that.

I so enjoyed everything at our party this year.  It was fun getting ready for it and it was fun when all the guests came and enjoyed themselves for an evening.

I enjoyed trying the foods just like the guests...my poor tummy got so full!

I am already looking forward to next year's party.  I have started a little book to keep notes about the things that do and do not work at our party.  I keep a list of the foods, the decorations, serving pieces, and the costs of everything.  I also make notes about what is needed for the next party and the things I want to remember for next year.  It really helps me get the party a little smoother and easier to pull off every year.

I have decided that my dad is right..."Practice makes perfect."  Each year we get a little better and a little quicker.  Our notes really help too.  I hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season.  Remember during all the bustle and hustle to take time to enjoy it.  Sometimes we forget to do that and we just miss the point of the whole season.
Until Next Time
