A Different Life Starts With A Decision

I was talking to someone recently who felt they had messed up so badly that they felt their life was over...I quickly told them that their life was not over...it was just changed.  I have lived enough years to know that now.  There were times I thought my life was ruined or done or whatever but something I eventually figured out was that if I kept going forward.  Step by step and if I kept making right decisions to the best of my ability then life has a way of offering us more chances.  No it doesn't usually turn out like we imagined but that isn't always a bad thing.  I read a sign today that said, "At any given moment you have the power to say this is not how the story is going to end."  I like that quote.  It offers so much power and encouragement if we will just pick it up and decide that for ourselves.  It just takes a decision and then let your steps be in light of that decision.  Soon you will see that life has indeed changed.

Debra...I just found your blogs via Flying Lessons. Just read posts on your travel blog...reading about your home town makes me homesick for Texas. My parents were born and raised in west Texas...Levelland, Wink and other small communities. One of my grandfathers worked in the oil fields and the other worked on ranches. Although I was born and raised in Arkansas, I have lived in Dallas and Houston and Texas has always felt like home. Now I live clear across the country in South Carolina. Someday I will get back to Texas.

I do understand the wind having spent 8 years living in Oklahoma just south of Oklahoma City. The wind was often the only way to bear the heat.

Living in small town America really is a wonderful life.
