What a Beautiful Day

It is such a beautiful day today.  The sun is shining, the sky is blue, the critters are playing.  Even the birds are singing.

It is so warm and gorgeous today that it could almost fool you...

It might make you think that winter is almost over.

It is in the 70's today.  It is Texas but that is not normal for this time of year.

It has been an odd year this winter because we really haven't had a winter.

We haven't had snow and very little rain.

It seems even more odd when I see all the reports of the snow every where else.I hear we have some cold weather coming in a couple of days.  I sure do hope it snows.  I would even be thankful for a nice earth quenching rain.

I will be thankful for whatever comes.
Until Next Time

Hi dear Debbie,

It has been unseasonably warm here in California too. I spent hours watering and then spread a 4 inch thick layer of straw on all my garden beds. What a big mess, but I felt the soil just baking and felt it needed a snug coverlet. We're hoping for rain next week. Haven't had any for a month now. My fruit trees are so confused. Peach bloomed and just leafed out.

Sending fond wishes across the miles,

Enjoy your warm weather while it lasts! Perhaps you already have the colder weather that was forecast. I imagine these poor hens won't appreciate the cold!

Hi Debbie ~~ We've had a fairly mild winter too. It's been nice. I hope you'll get the much-needed rain. Your kitties and chickens are adorable.
