While on our vacation in Avon, Colorado I took tons of pictures. There were so many beautiful flowers everywhere. We were out driving one day and came upon a beautiful little park called Nottingham Park. The pictures below are from our visit to that park.
I was surprised by the varieties because many of them are grown in Texas too. The main difference was the size of the plants and in Texas we know that if the label says full sun that it really means part shade for Texas gardens.
I also noticed that many of the varieties in Colorado bloomed much longer and at different times than they do in Texas. By August our johnny jump ups and pansies are long gone. In fact they fade away in June but are replanted in the fall so they can bloom all winter long.
I noticed the gorgeous colors that were everywhere in Colorado. It was almost as if someone had adjusted the color in my eyes. I guess I just didn't realize how much the sun fades many of our plants in Texas, especially during the hottest months of July and August.
This plant below was the only one that I wasn't sure of. The sign was missing on this one so if any of you know, I would love to hear from you. It is such a bright and beautiful pink color. I wonder if it will grow in Texas?

If..I could have something...(I KNOW I will never be a singer, so that thought is out the door) I would want to become a wonderful gardner and have a garden like yours. :)
Colorado seems to be such a lovely state. So many blogger have posted shots of the flowers. I like all of yours and especially the stair shot. Have a great day.
Debbie, you took some beautiful pics. Sorry I don't know what your mystery plant is. I can see why you would like to have it tho.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful flowers. We go to CO to visit my SIL so I will make it a point to visit this garden. The pictures are lovely you did a great job.
Beautiful garden, have a nice day, Radka.
Hey Debra, a nice trip to get you out of that hot TX heat! Your tour of this garden is great! I would love to visit Colorado someday. I'm pretty sure the plant in question is a rosa rugosa...they have those deeply lobed leaves and pretty green color. Do you remember if it was VERY thorny? that's one of the traits. Hope that helps.

Hi Debbie~~ I'm sorry I've been away from your blog. Not sure what happened. What a fabulous garden. Did anyone mention that the mystery rose is Rosa rugosa? Whether they grow in Texas or not, I'm not sure. The lilies, the yarrow, the rock embellishments, all lovely!
I have so enjoyed looking at your beautiful photographs and visiting your blog. This garden is wonderful and I especially love the informal garden beds which have such a natural look.

I love gardening ... it is so peaceful for me to be in the quiet of His beauty. Your flowers are gorgeous, do they die back in the winters month out there?
Have a beautiful relaxing day. TTFN ~Marydon
