I decided to show you a few of my favorite pictures from the Abilene, Texas Zoo.
I would love to raise flamingos. I just haven't figured out how to afford the shrimp they eat to make them pink and if they weren't pink they wouldn't be nearly as cool.

This was one of those warm bright wonderful winter days and we had a blast.

We got to feed the giraffes

This guy below looked so calm and relaxed, but then . . .

I think he decided to pose for me . . . or . . . he might have been thinking, "lunch"

There were some wonderful saltwater tanks to see

we saw lots of reptiles (the turtles are my favorite in this class)

Ducks are one of my favorite animals to photograph because they are so good at posing for me.

I could have had some peacocks with my house when we bought it but I just didn't think I could stand to listen to them cry "help" all night. They are so beautiful that I hated it but my neighbors were so grateful.

I hope you enjoyed this little peak at the
Abilene Zoo.
Until Next time
Debbie

Hello Debbie,
How lovely the animals through the lenses of your camera! We just visited the Dallas Aquarium and we just fell in love with it! I'd love to see Abilene zoo someday! Thank you!
Yippee Debbie! I'm so glad you're staying. Great shots, I have a particular fondness for Mr. Lion. What a magnificent cat. And the second giraffe photo just made me giggle. Thanks for sharing these! Kathy
Hi Debbie,
So happy you decided to keep posting. Hey those Flamingos would make a great Pink Saturday post. The are really beautiful but we'd be fighting for the shrimp! I love shrimp as much as they do. What wonderful creatures our God has given us to enjoy, and he gave you the gift of being able to capture them on film in all of their splendor. Blessings my friend. Hugs, Loretta
i love going to the zoo, haven't been in a long time, you made me feel like I was there, glad you stayed!
I agree with Loretta. When I first saw those pink flamingos, I thought "Pink Saturday."
I am so glad you are keeping this blog, and thank you for sharing those delightful pictures!!!! I would love to have flamingoes too, but I think they would freeze here in Canada, like the rest of us!!!
Cheers,
Margaret B
Love the flamingos - maybe they put pink dye in their food, so they don't have to shell out for shrimps?
That is the most beautiful lion I have ever seen! Lovely photos! :)

These ladies are right. Give blogging a little time. Just write what is in your heart and people will keep returning. Friendships are made that way! I have met so many wonderful people through blogging. I look forward to reading more - so keep it coming - you are doing fine!

Debbie... I'm so glad you're sticking around. It really does take a while to find your niche... but I think you may have found it... There are lots of sweet ladies and a few nice fellows that post wonderful photos, write interesting stories and care a lot about their blogger friends... you're one of them too... keep writing about what inspires you and join in a few of the games... blue monday, pink saturday, I think there's literally something every day (don't get too stuck on that stuff though)... but join in once in a while and you'll be making new friends every day... even if they're bloggie friends...
and it appears your #1 fan, your hubby, is 100% with you! You are blessed.
Have a joyous Easter... I'm taking a little blogger break until after the holiday.
hugs from one Texas gal to another. Dixie
