The Life Of A Rose

I have been thinking lately about how our lives are kind of like roses. . .
(be sure to click on the pictures to see the enlarged versions)
They start out with such beauty and promise.

As life unfurls it is so amazing how we have energy and hope and zest for life. It is so important though to remember that even with all this beauty there are thorns. . .

Sooner or later something shows up that will bug us. (see closeup)
It can take the form of fungus or aphids (the things that suck the life out of us) or things that chew us up like those darn beetles, don't forget those times of drought that can dry us out and make us long for the water of life and even outright disease that just tries to kill us.

Most days we can get back on track but sometimes it will leave our petals a little ragged and even browned. We look around to see if all the other flowers are looking better than us.

There are those days in our lives where everything gets blown completely out of proportion and it can steal our petals our beauty and even our lives if we are not careful to get back into a perspective of hope and joy.

There are some lives that cope with these things so well and they become so beautiful because they are able to listen to the creator and open their hearts to those around them and reflect the light so beautifully.

If you are struggling to keep your head up in the light because the things of life are crowding you out, remember to look up and out to those around you and most important to the Creator Himself. Knowing that sometimes it is the hard times that shape our lives into the most beautiful possibilities ahead.
Until Next Time
