I have been up to my elbows in greenery and glitter the past few days. It is almost time for our annual Christmas celebrations. This is one of my very favorite times of the year. We love to celebrate our dear Savior's birth in style with lots of greenery, lights, and glitter.
I know it isn't necessary to decorate so much in order to have a great Christmas. I know it isn't about the parties, the presents, or even the time of year. It is just my way of saying, "Jesus, I acknowledge You as the King of Kings And I want to do my best for you!"
I have really been crushing on glitter houses the past few years. I love them so much that I have a hard time walking by them and not buying them when I see them. I like them all whether they are large or small.
Maybe it is because they are usually depicted with snow. I live in a part of Texas where we do get snow, occasionally, but not nearly as much as I would like. I have wonderful memories of Christmases with wonderful lovely snow and they are just the best. There is just something about the way snow hushes the world and makes things go quiet. It also coats everything with white glitter and I just don't know if you can ever have too much glitter.
I also love all my ornaments when it comes time to decorate the tree. Each and every ornament has memories with them. Some of them remind me of certain vacations, or places, or just a time in our lives. Some remind me of special people and then there are those that remind me of people who are not with me any longer because of moves, or death. I have to confess that as I decorate this week, there have been lots of smiles, laughs, and yes, even tears...
