My granddaughter has been watching her mother and I drink cappuccinos all of her life. We knew the day would come when she would insist on a drink. That day finally came and at first we tried to not drink any in front of her because we of course did not want her to drink coffee even if it really does taste oh so good. We found out that we could order a Vanilla Milk Steamer from Starbucks and they would even heat it to the perfect temperature for kids. She loved it. My daughter came up with a recipe to mimic this one. It is called Foffee aka Fake Fluffy Coffee For Kids.
1/2 C Milk
1 - 2 pumps Vanilla Syrup
Add syrup to the milk. Use a frother (My daughter found hers for about $7 at Ross) Froth the milk until it is whipped up nicely. Warm the mixture in the microwave for about 45 seconds. This warms the milk but doesn't make it too hot to drink. Pour into a kid friendly cup and you have a warm flavored milk for your little one. You can use any flavor syrup that you like for this.
Ashley used Whole milk, and Torani Vanilla Syrup for this recipe.
My daughter loves her frother. It is an inexpensive way to froth your milk or cream for homemade cappuccinos.
This is what the milk mixture will look like when frothed nicely
45 seconds warms the milk just right for your little one. Not too hot and not too cool.
Add the warmed mixture to a kid friendly cup.
Time to see if it gets the A-OK stamp of approval from Baby Z
I think we can call this knock off recipe from Starbucks a success.
