We had another successful Christmas party for the year 2013 to thank the Seymour Hospital employees this year. The food was fantastic as usual, catered by my friend Jo Reimer with Blessings Tea Room & Catering. Be sure to check out her new website that I designed for her. I wrote about it here
For decorations this year, I decided to use Burlap and Lace on my tables and I glitzed that up with my silver and blue mercury glass collection. I just have to add that glitter and glitz to my decorations! I don't know if there can ever be too much for me. You can check out my other Christmas Party decorations here. As usual I used crystal and silver serving pieces but I left out the gold.
We did have one mishap very late in the evening. One of my shorter taper candles burned down to it's end and caught one of my little bobeche's on fire. Oh my was it a heart pounding moment! I am so thankful that I had lingered in the dining room with a web design customer, because all of my other guests had moved to the living room to visit. I heard a poof and when I looked up there was a flame about the size of a large man's fist. I jumped up blew out the fire and grabbed the bobeche' and greenery away from the other things. Thankfully that was the end of the excitement and the fire. No one was hurt and the only damage was one melted bobeche with crystals, and a little fresh greenery. I have been slowly converting to flameless candles and needless to say next year they will all be flameless on my table (so much safer).
I hope you enjoyed the little tour of my party tables. I am already planning what I will do for next year!
