How To Remove Dates From Blogger Posts

In this post I will teach you how to remove dates from your Blogger posts. There are a couple of ways that you can remove the date from your posts in the Blogger platform. I will show you how to do it both ways. You do not need to do it both ways in order to remove it but it is always good to have more than one way just in case. And the more you know how to navigate and use the Blogger platform the better for you.

The first way to remove the date so that you can hide it from your readers is as follows:

  • Go to your blog and log in.
  • Click on (Design) in the upper right corner of the nav bar.
  • Click on (Template) on the left of screen from list. (I promise it will be OK, nothing will blow up).
  • Click on (Customize) under Live on Blog
  • Click on (Advanced) from list on upper left of screen in dark area (I know it's scary but do it there is a treasure chest behind the scary button.)
  • Click on (Date Header) in 2nd list.
  • Click on (Text Colo)r (little arrow in black area of button) This will cause a drop down box where you can pick color changes.
  • Click on (Transparent) in lower right part of the drop down box.
  • You will notice there are several other options in the lists that you can change to your hearts content. You can play with it and see the way it will look in the lower part of your screen. Nothing will be live on your blog until you do the next step. If you don't like the changes then change it back or if you can't remember how to do that just be sure not to save it and skip to last step in this list. If you do like the changes then proceed in this list to the next step. (Whoopie you can play without fear!)
  • Click on orange (Apply to blog) button in upper right hand corner of page.
  • Click on (View Blog) in upper right hand corner of page to check your work.
The second way to remove the date from your Blogger posts is as follows:

  • Go to your blog and log in.
  • Click on (Design) in the upper right corner of the nav bar.
  • Click on (Layout) from the list on left of screen
  • In the Blog Post area on lower right corner of box click (Edit). This will open a drop down box.
  • Under Post Page options Uncheck the box by the Date.
  • Now you can see several other options that you can change within your blog posts including the ad colors, time posted, location, etc. Make any changes you like.
  • Click on blog area outside of drop down box (this will close the drop down box.
  • Click on orange Save arrangement button.
  • Click on View blog or Preview button to check out your work.
Now you know both ways to remove the date from your Blogger posts. Enjoy.

This is awesome, thanks Debbie! I am often stumped by little things in blogger so it's wonderful that you're sharing tips. Do you happen to have any wisdom on why scheduled posts might not publish on blogger? I have fiddled with it, googled it, and can't seem to figure it out! thx :)

Just did it...thanks for the easy fix! I am never sure if it's better to have the date posted or not. Now that I know it's so easy to change, I am going to give it whirl without for a bit. I can always put it back with a quick click! Off to check out some of your other tips! Thanks!

I am so glad to help you out. I am back and forth on whether it is good or not. I have tried it both ways and can't really see whether it helps or hinders but it is nice to be able to do it either way with the date or without. Blessings to you and your blog

You are so welcome. We blogger folks need to stick together and help each other when we can :0) As for your question, I am not sure why it wouldn't publish. I haven't had any problems in that department. You might double check the date including the year along with the time setting you have on your blog. Is it not publishing at all or is it late? If late you could have your blog set to a different time zone than what you are publishing in. You can see what timezone your blog is set to by clicking on settings in your desktop view and then click on Language and formatting. It should be set on the same timezone you live in.
