Google Reader Is Gone...Is Feedburner Going Too?

I have been closely monitoring Feedburner and all the news concerning Feedburner for signs that it will be closed down.  The Ads were removed from the Feedburner feeds some time back and that was the big hint for me that I needed to do something about changing my rss feeds to another company. They have closed down any support for this service and there have been problems with stats.

I finally decided that I needed to do something different or be left without a RSS Feed or Email delivery system. I made the final jump today over to Feedblitz and it wasn't a moment too soon as Google announced that they are shutting down Google Reader.  With Google Reader gone that pretty much rings the death nell for Feedburner in my opinion.  It is looking more and more like Google is putting all their eggs into the Google+ basket.  I can see why they are doing this but I also feel like they still have a long ways to go before they will truly replace all the services we had before in equal or better value with Google+.

I am a Google+ supporter.  I find myself giving Google+ as much attention as Facebook.  I see that it is only hitting it's first stride in the race.  I realize that change is inevitable and I welcome it most of the time.  I just wish that Google was a bit better at communication with it's service users.  That would go a long way towards winning more Google+ users.

In the interest of giving as good as I speak, I would like to announce to all of you that if you are a current subscriber to my blog through Feedburner (you get my blog in your email, or by rss feed), then I would appreciate it so very much if you would resubscribe. My icons in the sidebar have all been changed to the Feedblitz forms.  You have the choice of following my blog by mobile, by email, or by the rss feed of your choice with Feedblitz.  There are also lots of other ways you can follow me such as Linky Followers, Networked Blogs, Facebook, Twitter, HelloCotton, Bloglovin, Pinterest, Instagram, StumbleUpon, Google+, and even Google Connect (wondering how long it will be around too).  I know that is a lot of ways to follow me but I am all about choices and I want to give you every chance I can.  I appreciate each and every follower of my blog and I hope to prove to all of you that I hope to continue offering quality posts for a very long time.
Until Next Time
Debbie
