Garden Giveaway Winner

I did the giveaway drawing and the winner of the Garden Book along with the umbrella lights is . . .
Tina from In The Garden
Be sure to stop by her great blog and congratulate her.

Texas weather can be a little bi polar at times. . .

I took these pictures last week . . .

The weather was beautiful that day . . .

The grass was green . . .

The breeze was balmy . . .

I even needed sunscreen at the baseball game I saw that day . . .

I came out in the evening to get these pictures of the peach and plum blossoms (and to say a prayer over them) before the freeze came. . .

That night the north wind began to blow and bluster . . .

I woke up to snow and blustery frigid winds . . .

My heart sank a bit because I knew that it was definitely cold enough to kill those beautiful blossoms that carry the promise of fruit. . .

A similar thing happened last year and there were no peaches to be found in all of Texas . . .

But, you know what? God is so good because He answered my prayer. . .

When I got the nerve to step out to the orchard to see those trees after it had warmed again; I found those trees in full pink and white blossom.
Thank You Lord!
Until Next Time

Hi Debra, Awesome! I am so excited! Thanks so much. And again, thanks for the irises you sent me last year. I think of a nice person who took the time to do that for me each time I see those irises grow. And they haven't even bloomed yet:)

So glad the peach trees were spared Mother Nature's wrath and are still intact. You might have a bumper year this year.

I am happy your peach trees have bounced back! Yes God is good. Hey, I noticed on your profile that you like music by Brandon Heath. My mother has a cousin and Brandon is his nephew! It was nice to see his name as a favorite or yours and I will be sure to tell my mother as she will be happy to hear this today….

I let Tina know via email about her win. She should contact you soon....

Peaches and Plums seem to rule the Spring like the Daffs, Irises, and Narcissus'. I'm lovin' it. That shot of the bare tree full of lovely white blooms is terrific. Nice blog you got here, which means I'm gonna come back to enjoy your future posts. Glad I found your blog.

It's always tricky with fruit trees, isn't it? So much is dependent on the weather. Makes one realize we've got to put our hope in something bigger than ourselves. Thank God for the warm up. Nice photos!
