These are a few more of the pictures that I took while we were on our trip to Avon, Colorado which is located in the Vail Valley of the Rocky Mountains . . .
The main difference seemed to be that some of the flowers were a bit shorter in the mountains. I am not sure if this was because the nutrients move through the soil so much quicker or shorter growing season or if it was another reason.
The landscaping in this little community of Avon was spectacular. We enjoyed the walking paths that meandered all through the hamlet as well as those along the river.
Everywhere that we looked we found beautiful flower beds showing off brilliant colors and varied textures.
I especially loved the abundant use of rocks in the flower beds.
I was amazed at how bright and brilliant the colors seemed to be.
