Gone Gardening

This is the time of year when I am gone gardening. It is one of my busiest times of the year. This week I have been raking leaves, clearing dead plant remains, pulling weeds, spraying grass killer, fertilizing, trimming trees, mowing, planting beds and containers, watering everything, getting my water garden ready for the season, moving houseplants outside, and many many other chores. It is unbelievable how much work there is to do in the springtime but I love every second of it. I love how wonderful the weather is and the sounds of the birds, and the smell of the fresh rain. I love the feel of the dirt in my hands and even the smell of the newly turned dirt. I love the way everything starts looking neat and new. I love that good kind of tired I feel after a day in the garden.

I took a little break today and snapped a few random pictures from my garden that I thought you might enjoy.

The dark purple irises were in a tub when we moved into the house. I dug them out and planted them all over our property.

The yellow irises above were given to me by a neighbor.

This salvia came up from seed and faithfully returns every year
This is a new gallardia

I just love how both of these roses are so different yet both are so beautiful in their very own way.
Salvias are one of my very favorite plants to collect in my garden.

This is a shot of one of my pine trees

Here are some of the containers I have been working on.

This is Babette one of my sweet kitties

I hope you enjoyed these shots from my garden
Until Next time
