Sooner Born

This is another of my old posts that I thought you might enjoy so I dusted it off and posted it again.  This was a memorable little getaway for us and such a beautiful place.  Hope you enjoy!

I would like to take you to a place a bit north of my beloved Texas to Oklahoma. My husband, my children and I were all born in this fair state so it is a state dear to our hearts. And yes, you guessed it, our family is of the Sooner kind (at least my husband and children are) I tend to be a little more neutral on such matters.

These pictures were taken at the Chickasaw National Recreational Area near Sulphur, Oklahoma, in the Arbuckle Mountains.

When we pulled up in the car and then started down the path to this place I never dreamed of what beauty awaited us.

Every direction we looked was absolutely breathtaking

The water and the rocks and the vegetation served to make a beautiful sight

I just love how the water reflects so many details in its quiet surface

I just couldn't get enough of the picturesque beauty around me. Have you ever noticed how healing beauty can be? How it seems to reach inside your hurting heart like a balm to a wound.

This place did that for me. It soothed my spirit and helped me to believe that things would get better again someday.

It helped me to stand in faith and cling to hope even in the face of seemingly hopeless circumstances.

I began to believe again that blessing was just around the bend if I would only have faith and believe.

And you know what?

The path that I was on did get better. It wasn't the end but instead was a new beginning.

Once again the possibility of so much stretched before me.
And I had hope again . . .
Until Next Time
Debbie

I think nature is God's way of reminding us of Him. When I get so self-absorbed, I go outside and look at all the beauty He created for us and then I remember how very important we are to Him. :)
