OK, I Will Share

OK, I will do like my Mama said and I will share. I have a few tips on how to get those gorgeous clothes you have always dreamed of. Now, I am not a shopping fashionista or anything of the like, but I have learned a few things over the years. Actually shopping for clothes is not one of my favorite things to do. I look at it as something necessary that can be fun. I think the fun part is when I get my purchases home.
For many years I would look at catalogs and long for the beautiful colors, shapes, and textures that my eyes feasted on. Every so often I would scrape together enough to purchase one of those beloved things. I have this friend who is always shopping at top of the line stores and she has a great wardrobe I could never figure out how she could afford it. One day though, my friend Sarah shared her secret with me. She would study those catalogs and fashion magazines, and the displays in her favorite stores and she would make a list of exactly what she desired for the season. She would even take pictures of what she was desiring along with her in her purse or car and shop the less expensive stores for the pieces she wanted that would make the beautiful outfits that she desired. She also shopped sales. She always knows when there is a sale and she is always there to shop them. She owns some really nice clothes and most of them she bought for a song.

One of my very favorite stores is Coldwater Creek. They have pretty great sales at the end of the season and I have learned something else about them that I will share with you. If you go to the online store then there is a section called The Outlet. I find so many great deals there. For a while there I was ordering a box full of clothes every time we got a paycheck. Even my teenage son wondered why I was getting so many boxes in the mail. I discovered that I could order and get my clothes within the same week (usually 2-3 days) and try them on. Whatever didn't work for me, I packed into the box they came in marked my receipt, which items I was returning (it was so easy) Tape it up and slap on the addressed, postage paid sticker that came with my order and drop it in the mail. The postage was less than going out shopping for the day with gas prices and eating out and I didn't have to spend the day in those hot messy dressing rooms. Best of all I had a few days to ponder whether I really liked it or not. There were no sales people standing over me and it made shopping fun. I love getting boxes in the mail, don't you? Best of all I discovered I could do the same thing with many other catalogs and online stores.

Note: This was not a paid post and there was no exchange of goods or services for any of the recommendations or mentions in this post.
